Why using Executive Search during a recession is justified

I founded Hayward & Associates during a recession in 1988 and the company has also survived the dotcom crash of 2001 as well as the aftermath of September 11, when most US technology firms pulled out of Europe as a kneejerk reaction to everything that was happening in the world at that time. Retained Executive Search versus Contingency Recruiting

Your company may have previously had success in hiring people through working with selected and PSL (preferred supplier list) approved contingency based agencies. These firms offer a service with no commitment to fees being paid upfront and only receive a recruiting fee if your company subsequently hires the candidate submitted. These agencies work in a different way to search firms - they are about speed as they are in competition with the other agencies on the PSL. There are times when a different approach to hiring is required.  Retained search firms, like Hayward & Associates, are not only used for senior level searches but also for specific hires where a more focused approach is necessary to bring in the right quality candidates.
